Sweet Potato Mash

  • 4 lbs sweet potatoes, cut into ½ inch cubes
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup butter
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Fill a large pot about halfway with cold water. Add potatoes and 1 tablespoon salt to the water. 
  2. Bring the pot to a boil and let cook for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender. Drain.
  3. Add the potatoes back into the pot. Add the cream and butter and season with salt and pepper to taste. You can mash by hand or with a mixer, just be careful not to over mix it. I personally like to still have a few lumps in mine.
